The new device is on sale from June 20, 2015. Its price is the same as the previous Kindle Paperwhite. For the cheapest version\u00a0(WiFi, with special offers), you’ll pay $119.<\/p>\n

The new model has replaced the old Kindle Paperwhite in the official range of Kindle devices on Amazon.<\/p>\n

However, you can still buy the 2014 model in the Kindle Store<\/a>. If you hope the old model gets a price cut, you are right. The\u00a0price has already been reduced\u00a0by $10, to $109.

Kindle Paperwhite 2015 –\u00a0major changes<\/h2>\n

As usual, the updated\u00a0device is called “all-new” but there are in fact only two major changes.<\/p>\n

300 ppi high-resolution\u00a0screen<\/h4>\n

The major improvement is the new display with a higher resolution. At 300 ppi (pixels per inch), it offers\u00a0twice as many pixels as the earlier Kindle Paperwhite (212 ppi).<\/p>\n

It’s the same screen as in the top-end Kindle Voyage, with a resolution of\u00a01440 x 1080, comparable to that in Kobo Glo HD (1448 x 1072).<\/p>\n

Unlike in\u00a0Kindle Voyage, the 2015 Kindle Paperwhite screen doesn’t\u00a0have\u00a0PagePress, a\u00a0force sensor that\u00a0reacts to a subtle increase of pressure. Also, it’s not\u00a0equipped with Adaptive Light Sensor that Kindle Voyage has.<\/p>\n

Kindle Paperwhite 2015 – international launch<\/h2>\n

The big news is that Kindle\u00a0Paperwhite\u00a02015\u00a0launches on June 30 internationally<\/strong> as well. It’s surprising, having in mind that Kindle Voyage is still not sold globally, except localized Kindle Stores in few selected countries.<\/p>\n

Kindle Paperwhite 2015 international<\/a> sells from the US Kindle Store at $139. The price is the same as the old model.<\/p>\n

Also, just like for\u00a0U.S. customers, the price of the\u00a0earlier\u00a0Kindle Paperwhite<\/a>\u00a0was reduced for foreign\u00a0customers. Now you can get it for\u00a0$129, instead of $139<\/del>.<\/p>\n

What about international Kindle Stores? The 2015 Kindle Paperwhite is available there, as well. The release date is the same: June 30, 2015.<\/p>\n

In the Kindle Store UK, it costs\u00a0\u00a3109.99. In the rest of European countries that have a localized Kindle\u00a0Store, the prices start from EUR 119.99 (for the version with special offers) and\u00a0EUR 129.99 (without special offers).<\/p>\n

It\u00a0has to be highlighted – and highlighted\u00a0more than once – the 2015 Kindle Paperwhite is a first Kindle model that sells internationally right from the date of its launch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
