Ross Goodwin<\/a>, a technologist, ghost writer, and programmer,\u00a0has created Text Clock<\/a>. It’s a beautifully simple webpage filled with passages from free ebooks available on Project Gutenberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When you visit Text Clock, you’ll see, highlighted in red, the current time in your time zone. Each part of the sentence stating the time\u00a0comes from a different book.<\/p>\n

That’s not just that. Reload the page in a browser by hitting Control+R and you’ll read a different set of paragraphs.<\/p>\n

It’s not a first project where Ross Goodwin sourced the text from Project Gutenberg. You should also check out Sonnetizer<\/a>, a program that\u00a0generates 14-line rhyming sonnets from any text\u00a0inset.<\/p>\n

A book of 10,000 sonnets, generated by Sonnetizer from the sonnets of William Shakespeare is available as a free pdf download<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The projects from\u00a0Ross Goodwin are extremely\u00a0inspiring, and give energy\u00a0to explore the exciting land of free public domain content, not only free ebooks<\/a>, but also photos and illustrations, naming only Flickr Commons catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n
